With all its infrastructures and 47 kilometres of shoreline, one could doubt the efficiency of transport. But that’s without counting on the taxi boats that take you from one point of the lake to another free of charge. Once you’ve put the car down, you’re free to move around as you please. Better still, if you are on holiday, the taxi boats will also take your bike.
For your walks, bike rides or morning jogging, the shoreline path runs along the lake for 30km. The more modest 2.5 km long Puy de la Croix moorland interpretation trail reveals landscapes shaped by man and recounts the history of farming life in the past.
In terms of sporting activities, you will not be disappointed: sailing school, canoeing, stand up paddle, windsurfing, wake boarding, water skiing, open water swimming, everything is possible in Vassivière!
